ALLEGHENY COUNTY AIRPORT AUTHORITY BOARD APPOINTS BRADLEY D. PENROD, AAE, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO SUCCEED KENT G. GEORGE
PITTSBURGH, PA – The Allegheny County Airport Authority Board met today and voted unanimously to name Bradley D. Penrod to the Executive Director post effective October 5, replacing Kent G. George. Bradley D. Penrod is currently the Chief Operating Officer at the Allegheny County Airport Authority.
“Brad brings to the post the classic credentials and experience to effectively lead the airport into the future consistent with the Authority’s vision developed and successfully initiated under Kent George’s leadership. The board of directors arrived at this decision unanimously following deliberations in executive session,” explained Glenn R. Mahone, Chairman, Allegheny County Airport Authority.
Mr. Penrod has served as COO since 1999. He served as interim director in 1998 for a year prior to Mr. George being appointed Executive Director. He has held positions of increasing responsibilities at the Pittsburgh International Airport and the Allegheny County Airport for the last 24 years.
Mr. Penrod is Past President of the Northeast Chapter of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE). He is an FAA licensed private pilot, has held numerous positions with various national aviation professional organizations, has presented at conferences, served on aviation task forces and been published in trade journal on topics including airport operations excellence and airfield safety.
Mr. Penrod has a masters degree from Duquesne University and a bachelors degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Brad and his wife Karen reside in North Fayette Township, PA.
