ALLEGHENY COUNTY AIRPORT AUTHORITY FINANCE DEPARTMENT ACCEPTS AWARD FOR DISTINGUISHED BUDGET PRESENTATION
PITTSBURGH, PA (June 20, 2013) – The Allegheny County Airport Authority recently received the Government Finance Officers Association’s (GFOA) Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its 2012 budget. The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving government finance professionals from around the country.
In announcing the award, the Association granted the ACAA’s finance department with a Certificate of Recognition for Budget Presentation for being primarily responsible for the fiscal period 2012 budget.
“I am extremely pleased with what our department has accomplished and would like to thank everyone for the time and effort that went into the achievement of this award,” said Jim Gill, Chief Financial Officer.
In order to receive the award, the entity must also meet the highest principles of governmental budgeting, as well as satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation. These guidelines include gaining a proficient rating in several categories, such as the policy document, financial plan, operations guide, and communications device.
The Airport Authority has also been honored twice before by the GFOA Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its 2011 and 2012 comprehensive annual financial report.
