ALLEGHENY COUNTY AIRPORT AUTHORITY BOARD APPROVES LAUNCH OF VALET PARKING AT PITTSBURGH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
PITTSBURGH, PA (May 12, 2006) – Valet parking will soon be a new customer service option for travelers at Pittsburgh International Airport. The Allegheny County Airport Authority today approved a board action to enter into a license agreement with Pittsburgh Airport Valet Parking, Inc.
In the near future, passengers will have the option to have the valet service park their cars and provide other auxiliary services such wash, detail and oil change. Fees for valet parking and other services are still being determined. The launch date for the new offering will likely be July 1, 2006.
Cars will be directed to the lower level of the short term parking garage for valet service. Once parked, travelers are steps away from the terminal.
``The benefit of valet parking is the convenience and the time savings. Frequent business travelers want to get off the plane and into their cars as quickly as possible. There will be no waiting for shuttles or searching for their parking spaces,`` explained Kent G. George, Executive Director, Allegheny County Airport Authority.
The demand for parking at Pittsburgh International Airport is increasing due to an increase in more local travelers, thanks to lower airfares. Many of the nation’s top airports also offer valet service and it is becoming a very popular airport amenity. More information on this new service will be announced within the next few weeks.
