American Airlines Announces Pittsburgh Flights to New York JFK


PITTSBURGH, PA (September 10, 2007) – American Airlines continues to grow and enhance its New York service announcing today that its regional affiliate, American Eagle, will begin new routes from Pittsburgh International Airport to John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) on Dec. 13. Round trip fares are about $118 and are available for booking today at American Airlines website,

American Eagle also serves Pittsburgh to New York LGA with two flights a day. American Eagle will fly the route with Embraer 135 or Embraer 140 jets, seating between 37 and 44 customers.

Mahone, Chairman, Allegheny County Airport Authority. “We call on the region’s business and leisure travelers to take advantage of these flights. New York is one of our top markets for business and American provides timely connections for many international destinations.”

On December 13, American Eagle begins nonstop service between Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) and American Airlines new state-of-the-art terminal at JFK.

This flight will permit easy connections from Pittsburgh to international destinations such as London, Frankfurt, Paris, as well as Barcelona and Milan beginning Spring 2008. The schedule for the new Pittsburgh service is as follows:

  • Pittsburgh to New York JFK (PIT-JFK): Flight 4314 departs Pittsburgh at 2:50 p.m. and arrives at JFK at 4:15 p.m. daily.
  • New York JFK to Pittsburgh (JFK-PIT): Flight 4315 departs JFK at 4:55 p.m. and arrives at Pittsburgh at 6:30 p.m. daily.

These new routes are part of American`s ongoing initiative to become the clear-cut airline of choice for passengers in the New York market. American`s commitment to New York equates to 248 daily departures from our New York airports to 61 nonstop destinations, 27 of which are international.

American Airlines also offers Pittsburgh flights nonstop to Chicago O’Hare (four per day), Dallas Fort Worth (six per day), Miami (one per day).
