HOLIDAY CHORAL PROGRAM UNDERWAY AT PITTSBURGH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
PITTSBURGH, PA (December 1, 2006) - If you are flying this holiday season, there is a good chance you will get to enjoy beautiful music and singing at the airport. The Choral Concert Program at Pittsburgh International Airport is underway. The program features many local schools and youth music groups. Volunteer Bianca Brown and the Airport Authority`s Communications Department coordinate the project.
The groups are performing on the Ticketing Level of the Landside Terminal. So even if you are going to the airport to pick someone up or drop someone off, you can still enjoy the sounds of the season and some of the area’s best young talent.
The airport`s holiday decorations are also on display. Local students make the tree decorations. The participating schools include: trees are decorated with ornaments made by students from Carnegie Elementary, Dutch Ridge Elementary, Hopewell Memorial Junior High, South Side Beaver Elementary, Burkett Elementary, Osborne Elementary School and West Mifflin Middle School.
The schools participating in the Pittsburgh International Airport Choral Concert Program include: Our Lady of Sacred Heart High School, West Allegheny Show Choir, Grandview Elementary School, Sewickley Academy, Robinson Township Christian School, Aliquippa High School Chorus, Sterrett Classical Academy, Miller African Center Academy, Allegheny Traditional Academy, Steel Valley High School, Dilworth Traditional Academy, John Minadeo Elementary, Western Beaver High School, Rhema Christian School, South Fayette Concert Choir, Moon MS Touring Orchestra, West Allegheny Middle School, David E. Williams Middle School and Thomas Jefferson High School.
