PITTSBURGH, PA (March 6, 2013) – Four airlines reported an increase in passengers at Pittsburgh International Airport (www.FlyPittsburgh.com) in January 2013 compared to January 2012 according to the January 2013 Scheduled Airline Traffic Report, prepared by the Allegheny County Airport Authority.

A total of 555,978 scheduled passengers were enplaned and deplaned at the airport in January 2013, a 1.1 percent increase compared to January 2012 (555,789 in January 2013; 549,732 in January 2012; 1.1 percent increase). The increase is due to more passenger seats being available and subsequently filled in January 2013 than January 2012.

Airlines which showed increases in traffic were Delta (96,329/92,775; 3.8 percent), United (93,539/77,620; 20.5 percent); AirTran (59,430/48,847; 21.7 percent) and American (44,547/42,943; 3.7 percent).
