`PEOPLE MOVER` TRAIN TUNNEL IMPROVEMENTS AT PITTSBURGH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
- One train operating from September 24 to 29
PITTSBURGH, PA – Beginning Monday, September 24, the Allegheny County Airport Authority will begin enhancements to the two “people mover” train tunnels at Pittsburgh International Airport. These trains located past the security check point, transport air travelers to the Airside terminal, AIRMALL and airline gates.
These improvements include replacement of wallboard in the train tunnels between the Landside and Airside Terminals
Due to these improvements, there will be one train operating from 9 AM, Monday, September 24 to Saturday, September 29.
Operating one train may impact the traveling public.
The Allegheny County Airport Authority is advising passengers to allow a little extra time for checking in and getting to their gates. Airport employees who work in the Airside Terminal should also allow extra time.
The second train tunnel will be scheduled for rehab on Oct. 1 and will likely be completed by Oct.5. This project will limit operations to one train and those flying that week should allow extra time as well.
