PITTSBURGH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT PASSENGER TRAFFIC REPORT FOR AUGUST 2013

  • More flights and seats available in August 2013 compared to last year
  • Southwest, American, and Delta all add new flights

PITTSBURGH, PA (October 11, 2013) – Two airlines at Pittsburgh International Airport showed an increase in percentage of passengers in August 2013 in comparison to last August totals according to the monthly scheduled passenger traffic report prepared by the Allegheny County Airport Authority.

American Airlines had the highest percentage-based increase with a gain of 9.8 percent passengers (61,940 passengers in August 2013/56,406 passengers in August 2012). The DFW additional flight was for the peak summer season. United also reported an increase in traffic (126,532/125,350; 0.9 percent).

The number of departing scheduled flights for August 2013 increased 0.1 percent and the amount of departing scheduled seats available increased by 4.3 percent compared to August 2012, according to Diio, an aviation database system.
