ACAA Seeking Qualified Companies To Develop Regional Air Service Program


PITTSBURGH, PA (November 14, 2011) – The Allegheny County Airport Authority announced today that it is accepting Statements of Qualifications from firms interested in providing consulting services related to developing the PIT Connector Regional Air Service Plan, on behalf of the Pennsylvania Air Service Committee (PASC) of the PA Bureau of Aviation.

The goal of the PIT Connector Regional Air Service Plan will be to provide scheduled commercial air service between Pittsburgh International Airport and thirteen airports throughout Pennsylvania.

These airports are: Altoona-Blair County Regional Airport, Arnold Palmer Regional Airport in Latrobe, Bradford Regional Airport, DuBois Regional Airport, Erie International Airport, Harrisburg International Airport, Johnstown-Cambria County Airport, Lancaster Airport, Lehigh Valley International Airport, University Park Airport, Venango Regional Airport, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and Williamsport Regional Airport.

“The PA Air Service Committee has spent four years exploring development of the PIT Connector. For the right company, this project can be a successful enterprise and could lead to more jobs and commerce in Pennsylvania,” said Gabe Monzo, Director, Arnold Palmer Regional Airport and PASC Chairman.

“There is a need to provide continued and reliable air service to all commercial service airports throughout Pennsylvania. In state air service is poised to expand due to growth in the energy sector. The PIT Connector Plan will provide a logical solution to the state’s aviation needs,” said Glenn R. Mahone, Chairman, Allegheny County Airport Authority.

The plan will provide the route plan, schedule plan, pricing model, traffic and revenue forecast, operating cost forecast, interline baggage transfer agreements, and estimated financial support requirements needed to make the PIT Connector a viable option for airlines.
