ALLEGHENY COUNTY AIRPORT AUTHORITY’S JOANN JENNY SELECTED AS PRSA PITTSBURGH'S RENAISSANCE COMMUNICATOR OF THE YEAR NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATION
PITTSBURGH, PA (February 8, 2013) – JoAnn Jenny, Director of Communications, Allegheny County Airport Authority, has been awarded Renaissance Communicator of the Year Not-for-Profit Organization by the Pittsburgh chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). Jenny received the award January 24 during the PRSA’s Renaissance Awards program.
Jenny was honored for her exceptional work in communicating Pittsburgh International Airport’s (PIT) messages, orchestrating the 20th anniversary celebration campaign for PIT and promoting important customer service programs including the FlyPittsburgh.com website, the weekly low fare alerts and nonstop Pittsburgh to Paris on Delta Air Lines. As part of the 20th anniversary celebration, she and her team successfully executed a Family Fun Day event held at the airport which attracted many visitors. The day also included guided tours to the airside terminal and AIRMALL, which were a first since September 11, 2001. The event helped to also educate the public on the Airport’s opportunities for future growth.
JoAnn oversees a staff of 11, including public affairs, public relations, graphic design and customer service professionals. Jenny was also recognized for mentoring dozens of interns through the internship she created and counseling many students in schools and universities on ways to succeed in public relations. Jenny (of Ross Township) has worked at the Airport Authority for 12 years.
