American Airlines Adds MD-80 Service From PIT to Dallas-Fort Worth

AMERICAN AIRLINES ADDS MD-80 SERVICE FROM PIT TO DALLAS-FORT WORTH

  • Service begins June 12

PITTSBURGH, PA (February 19, 2009) – Everything is bigger in Texas and now the airplane carrying passengers from Pittsburgh International Airport (www.FlyPittsburgh.com) to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport is bigger too! American Airlines has announced it will add MD-80 service from the airport beginning June 12, 2009.

“The Pittsburgh—Dallas/Fort Worth market has proven to be a strong performer for American Airlines, so we’re delighted to be able to add some larger jet aircraft on flights to and from our largest hub,” said Walter Aue, American’s Vice President – Capacity Planning. “Our 140-seat MD80s offer 16 seats in First Class, so that also provides our Pittsburgh customers the opportunity to upgrade to a premium cabin.”

“This aircraft upgrade is a tangible means for American Airlines to improve the quality of the flight for our region’s business and leisure travelers. Pittsburgh International Airport offers more choice and improved service to top business destinations such as Dallas,” said Brad Penrod, Executive Director and CEO of the Allegheny County Airport Authority.

Beginning June 12, American Airlines will have this schedule from PIT to DFW: Four flights leaving daily at 7:20 a.m., 11:50 a.m., and 6:35 p.m.
