PITTSBURGH, PA (April 16, 2014) – The Allegheny County Airport Authority and AIRMALL Pittsburgh are planning a great day for travelers at Pittsburgh International Airport for its Customer Appreciation Day. From 11 am to 3 pm, Thursday April 17, travelers can enjoy a prize wheel, free cookies, live music and shopping deals in the Landside and Airside Terminal at Pittsburgh International Airport.
Almost every shop, restaurant and eatery is offering a great special or discount. Many shops have also donated prizes to the prize wheel. The Airport Authority is requesting a donation of any amount to its Serve-A-Soldier Program to spin the wheel. Every spin wins a prize. Serve-A-Soldier is a program of the Authority’s Military and Family Courtesy Center where active service personnel are given a $10 AIRMALL gift card for a meal at the airport before flying out. Live music will be performed by German band Mädel Jäger from 12 noon to 3pm.
"This day is just one way that we can thank passengers for flying at Pittsburgh International Airport," said James R. Gill, Acting Executive Director, Allegheny County Airport Authority. "We hope that passengers will come early Thursday and spend some time shopping, spin the prize wheel and enjoy the entertainment before they continue on to their destination."
The purpose of this outreach is to thank passengers for flying PIT and to promote customer service and Pittsburgh International Airport’s N.I.C.E. customer service program. The Airport Authority has trained hundreds of employees in N.I.C.E. – Neutralizing Irritations Customers Experience, a program designed to solve customer problems. Last week, the Airport Authority recognized more than 50 airport employees who demonstrated excellent customer service.
