What: News conference and Open House for the first-ever, co-located application site for TSA Pre✓™ and Global Entry at Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT)
When: 10 am, Tuesday, May 20, 2014
Where: Ticketing Level, North End, Pittsburgh International Airport
Who: Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald, Transportation Security Administration Official, Customs and Border Protection Officials
Why: This joint TSA/CBP center will offer passengers in the Pittsburgh-area the option to choose a program that fits their individual travel needs. TSA Pre✓™ and Global Entry provide an improved passenger experience, while enhancing security and increasing system-wide efficiencies. As a Global Entry or TSA Pre✓™ traveler, you have provided information to the government and paid a fee to get expedited service through the screening checkpoint and international arrivals at participating airports.
IMPORTANT DETAILS: Travelers can pre-enroll for the TSA Pre✓™ application program at www.TSA.gov. Walk-in appointments for the TSA Pre✓™ application program will be honored on a first come, first served-basis; pre-enrollment is recommended.
Pre-enrollment for Global Entry via www.CBP.gov is required. Participants in CBP’s Global Entry are automatically pre-qualified for TSA Pre✓™, and don’t need to apply separately for the TSA Pre✓™ application program. Global Entry requires a passport to participate, the TSA Pre✓™ application program does not.
Additional details regarding these two programs is available at www.DHS.gov: http://www.dhs.gov/comparison-chart
